Woman injured in shooting near Alamitos Beach neighborhood, police say
Police say the woman was shot sometime around 1:30 a.m. by another woman during an argument in the area of Hermosa Avenue and Third Street.
A woman was shot in Long Beach’s Alamitos Beach neighborhood and police are still looking for a suspect, authorities said.
The victim, according to the Long Beach Police Department, was arguing with another woman in the area of Hermosa Beach and Third Street around 1:30 a.m.
At some point, the other woman shot the victim in the upper body, according to the LBPD.
Long Beach Fire personnel responded to the scene and took the victim to a local hospital for her injuries, according to police. She is in stable condition, authorities said.
The suspect left the area before officers arrived, according to the LBPD. But officers seized a gun they found at the scene, authorities said. Police did not say whether that gun was the one used in the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing, they added.
