The shooting took place around 7:45 p.m. Sunday in the 6200 block of Long Beach Boulevard, according to authorities.

Police say they're investigating a shooting in North Long Beach Sunday night that left a 19-year-old man dead.

Officers were called to the 6200 block of Long Beach Boulevard around 7:45 p.m. after reports that someone had been shot in the area, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

When the officers arrived they found a man with "life-threatening injuries," police said. The man was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, they added.

The LBPD identified him as Dante Williams of Long Beach.

The circumstances of the shooting are not yet clear. Police ask anyone with more information to contact detectives at 562-570-7244.
