Woman shot to death in Wrigley area, police say
The woman was in the 1900 block of Long Beach Boulevard early Monday morning when she was shot, according to authorities.
Police are investigating the death of a woman who was shot in the Wrigley area early Monday morning.
The woman was in the 1900 block of Long Beach Boulevard around 5:19 a.m. when she was shot, according to Long Beach police.
Officers gave the woman medical aid until relieved by Long Beach Fire Department personnel, police said. She was then taken to a local hospital where she later died of her injuries, according to authorities.
The woman's identity is being withheld while the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner works to notify her next of kin, police said.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene, but the motive, circumstances of the shooting and suspect information remain under investigation, according to the LBPD.
