Man, woman injured in separate stabbings in Long Beach, police say

Long Beach police say they’re investigating two separate stabbings that left a man and a woman injured Thursday.

The first stabbing happened around 6:47 p.m. in the 1100 block of Anaheim Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

There, two women were arguing when one of them stabbed the other multiple times in the upper body, police said. The suspect then fled the scene, they added.

Authorities arrived at the scene and took the victim to a local hospital, police said. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening and she is in stable condition, according to the LBPD.

The second stabbing took place around 11:49 p.m. in the 1100 block of Second Street, according to the LBPD.

A man and a woman were arguing in the area, according to police, when the woman stabbed the man in the upper body.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the man to a local hospital where he is in stable condition, police said, adding that his wound does not appear to be life-threatening.

The suspect, who police identified as 20-year-old Long Beach resident Jayleen Dominguez, was taken into custody on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, authorities. Her bail was set at $30,000, police said.
