Woman killed in North Long Beach shooting, police say
Detectives are investigating a shooting in North Long Beach that left a 20-year-old woman dead Saturday night.
Police say a woman was walking in the area of Paramount Boulevard and 57th Street sometime around 10:07 p.m. when someone shot her and then fled in a vehicle.
Authorities responded to the scene and found the woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body, police said.
Though officers and Long Beach Fire Department personnel tried to save her life, the woman died at the scene, authorities said. She was identified by police as Long Beach resident Brooklyn Mack.
Motive and suspects for the shooting remain unknown, according to police.
