Police investigate shooting death near Cambodia Town
Long Beach police officers found a man with gunshot wounds to his upper body just after midnight on Wednesday.
Long Beach detectives are investigating a shooting near Cambodia Town that left one man dead early Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
Few details about the shooting were immediately available, but police say officers responded just after midnight to the 800 block of Atlantic Avenue following reports of shots fired in the area, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
When officers got to the area, they found a man with gunshot wounds to his upper body, police said. Officers aided the man until Long Beach Fire personnel arrived and pronounced him dead, authorities said. Heβs been identified as 28-year-old Long Beach resident Tyrone Parks, police said.
Police say the suspect, meanwhile, fled the scene before their arrival.
