A man died Sunday morning when another man struck him with a car during an argument in West Long Beach, according to authorities.
Officials say two men were arguing in the area of Santa Fe Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway around 9:50 a.m. when one of them hit the other with a car, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
The suspect then drove away from the area, police said.
Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim in critical condition with injuries to the upper and lower body, police said. He was taken to a local hospital where he died, they added. While the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office works to notify his family, he was only identified as a 59-year-old man.

It’s not clear what the two men were arguing about or why the suspect decided to hit him with a car, authorities said.
The department asks anyone with more information to contact detectives at 562-570-7244.
