Police say they’re investigating a shooting near the Pike Outlets that left a man injured Sunday night.

The man, according to the Long Beach Police Department, was near the area of Aquarium Way and The Paseo around 8 p.m. when an unknown man started yelling at him.

It is unclear why, but the unknown man then shot the other man in the upper body, police said.

The suspect fled after the shooting, and the victim went to the LBPD’s Downtown building for help, authorities said.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded and took the victim to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

Authorities reported that he is in stable condition and his injury does not appear to be life-threatening.

The crime came just under an hour after a woman shot a man in Long Beach’s Willmore neighborhood. The victim in that case is also expected to survive, police said.
