Another man was arrested after negligently firing a gun in a separate incident, authorities said.
Police are investigating a shooting in West Long Beach that left a man wounded Friday night.
Long Beach police say the man was in the 2600 block of Baltic Avenue when two other men fired shots in his direction around 8:13 p.m, striking him once in the upper body.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel treated the man's wound, which was not considered life-threatening, but he declined hospitalization, according to authorities.
The suspects fled before officers arrived on scene, police said.
The motive and circumstances of the shooting as well as suspect information remain under investigation, according to police.
About an hour earlier, a man in the 3600 block of California Avenue negligently fired a gun inside a home, injuring himself, police said.
LBFD personnel gave the man medical treatment and then took him to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, authorities said.
The man was then booked for negligent discharge of a firearm, exhibiting a firearm and vandalism, according to an LBPD spokesperson.
The investigation into that shooting is ongoing, police said.
