2 dead in East Long Beach crash, police say
The crash happened around 7:35 p.m. when the driver of an SUV turned in front of a motorcyclist, according to LBPD.

Police say they’re investigating a crash between a car and motorcycle in East Long Beach that left two people dead Sunday night.
The crash happened around 7:35 p.m. at the intersection of Wardlow Road and Woodruff Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The driver of a 2025 Yamaha motorcycle was going northbound on Woodruff Avenue when they collided with a 2006 Toyota Highlander whose driver was making an unprotected left turn from southbound Woodruff onto eastbound Wardlow Road, the LBPD said.
The motorcyclist and a passenger in the Toyota died at the scene, according to police. The driver of the car, meanwhile, was taken to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire Department personnel, they added. The extent of their injuries were not clear.
The motorcyclist was as identified by police as Austin Patrick Fett, a 28-year-old Lakewood resident. The identity of the passenger was not revealed as the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office works to notify their relatives.
Police say impaired driving is not being investigated as a factor in the crash.
“At this time, other contributing factors are under investigation,” police said.
The LBPD asks witnesses or anyone with more information to contact detectives at 562-570-7355.
