1 dead, 2 injured in North Long Beach shooting, police say
It's unclear who shot the men or why, but police say it was possibly ‘gang-related.’
Detectives are investigating a shooting in North Long Beach Saturday night that left one man dead and two others injured, according to police.
Long Beach police say they responded around 9:15 p.m. to the 6800 block of Coachella where they found three men with gunshot wounds.
Officers treated them at the scene until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and took the men to a hospital, police said.
There, one of the men died from his injuries, police said. He was identified as Tyrant Otee Walker, 55, of Compton.
Another victim remains in critical but stable condition, according to police, while the third has since been released from the hospital.
It's unclear who shot the men or what sparked the shooting, but police say it was possibly "gang-related."
A gang-related crime is one committed for the benefit of, at the direction of, or in association with any criminal street gang, according to the LBPD.
