The man apparently jumped into the road Tuesday evening where he was struck by a 2021 Volkswagen ID and possibly two other vehicles, according to LBPD.

A man died after walking into traffic and being struck by at least one and possibly three vehicles near Recreation Park Golf Course Tuesday night, authorities said.
Long Beach police said the man apparently βjumpedβ from the sidewalk and into the street directly in front of a 2021 Volkswagen ID around 11 p.m. The driver, unable to stop in time, struck the man.
Following the initial collision, the man was possibly hit by two other vehicles as he lay in the street, according to the LBPD.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel determined the man was dead at the scene, police said.
All three drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.
Police have not identified the man as the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner works to notify his next of kin.
Detectives are investigating the collision, but authorities said speed, impaired driving and reckless driving did not appear to be factors.
Police ask anyone with information on the collision to contact detectives at 562-570-7355.
