Man dies after being hit by car near the Traffic Circle, police say
The driver of a Honda Crosstour struck the pedestrian near the area of Atherton Street and Ashbrook Avenue, police said.

A man died Wednesday night after being hit by a car while crossing the street near the Traffic Circle, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Police say the man was walking southbound in an unmarked crosswalk near the area of Atherton Street and Ashbrook Avenue around 7 p.m.
Thatโs when the driver of a 2012 Honda Crosstour going eastbound on Atherton Street hit him, according to the LBPD.
Officers responding to the scene found the man unconscious in the street, police said. Bystanders gave the pedestrian medical aid until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and took him to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries, according to authorities.
The pedestrian's identity was not immediately revealed as the Los Angeles County Medical Examinerโs office works to notify his relatives.
The driver of the Crosstour, a 21-year-old Los Angeles resident, remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
Impaired driving does not appear to be a factor in the collision, according to the LBPD.
