Help create Long Beach's plan to address homelessness
The city is hosting an open house Thursday to give updates and gather more community input for its five-year plan.
This year's homeless count showed a slight reduction in the number of people in Long Beach without permanent housing, and city leaders are working on a five-year plan they hope will shrink that number even further.
Residents, business owners and other community members are invited to learn more about what the city has been doing and the input its received so far, and also to give their own feedback to help draft the plan.
An open house on Long Beach's homelessness strategic plan update will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Ronald R. Arias Health Equity Center, 6335 Myrtle Ave. Click here to register for the event, though it is not required.
City officials expect to finish gathering input by the end of this year and release the completed plan in 2025. People who want to share their thoughts but can't attend the open house may email their comments to ohsp@longbeach.gov.
