Teen girl stabbed in West Long Beach, police say

The girl was fighting with the suspect when she was stabbed Sunday, authorities said.

Police are investigating a stabbing in West Long Beach that injured a teen girl early Sunday night.

Long Beach police say a 16-year-old girl and another person were fighting in the 1200 block of San Gabriel Avenue around 6:23 p.m. when the person stabbed the girl.

The extent of the girl’s injuries isn’t known, but authorities said Long Beach Fire Department personnel treated her at the scene.

The suspect fled prior to the arrival of officers, police said.

The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing, accirding to the LBPD.
