A small earthquake hit San Pedro Sunday morning, with people reportedly feeling the shake in areas like Long Beach and Carson, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The USGS reported that the 2.2-magnitude earthquake struck just before 8 a.m. near Terminal Island.

Anything below a 2.5 magnitude is generally considered a small earthquake and is typically not felt.

But several people in Long Beach and the South Bay area, which includes Carson, Lomita and Torrance, reported feeling a weak jolt, according to the USGS.
