Shooting in North Long Beach leaves man hospitalized, police say

The man was in the 6300 block of Myrtle Avenue Monday night when he was shot, according to authorities.

Police are investigating a shooting in North Long Beach that left a man hospitalized Monday night.

Long Beach police say the man was in the 6300 block of Myrtle Avenue around 8:52 p.m. when he was shot. The man then made his way to the LBPD’s North Long Beach substation, according to police.

From there, Long Beach Fire Department personnel took him to a local hospital, where he was treated for a single gunshot wound to his upper body, authorities said.

The man’s wound was not considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, police added.

The motive, circumstances of the shooting and suspect information are all under investigation, according to the LBPD.
