Shooting in Bixby Park leaves man hospitalized, police say

Police are investigating a shooting in Bixby Park that left a man hospitalized around midnight.
Long Beach police say the man was near Second Street and Cerritos Avenue around 12:23 a.m. when he was shot.
He then took himself to a local hospital, where he was treated for a single gunshot wound to his lower body, authorities said. The man's wound was not considered life-threatening, police added.
LBPD officers were unable to locate a crime scene, police said.
The motive, circumstances of the shooting and suspect information remain under investigation, according to the LBPD.
