Police say they responded early Wednesday morning to the 3300 block of Long Beach Boulevard where they found the man.
Detectives are investigating the death of a man who was found with several stab wounds beneath the 405 Freeway underpass near Long Beach Boulevard and Wardlow Road, according the Long Beach Police Department.
Police say officers were called around 12:35 a.m. Wednesday to the 3300 block of Long Beach Boulevard for a person lying in the roadway.
When the officers got there, they found the man beneath the underpass with multiple stab wounds.
Despite efforts by Long Beach Fire Department personnel to save his life, the man died at the hospital, police said. His identity was not immediately released as the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office works to notify his family.
It’s not yet clear whether the man was stabbed there or at a different location and there are no suspects as homicide detectives work to piece together the circumstances of the stabbing, the department said.
