Man arrested in connection to nearly a dozen commercial burglaries, police say
Police say the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Long Beach resident Lino Zamora, used a tool similar to a crowbar to pry open ATMs at 11 business around the city.
A Long Beach man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into several businesses around the city and stealing money from their ATMs, police announced Friday morning.
Long Beach police say Lino Zamora, 43, first began breaking into businesses back in November 2023. He then went on to break into at least 10 more businesses, with the latest happening in April, police said.
Using a prybar, a tool that resembles a small crowbar, Zamora would then force open ATMs and take the money inside, according to the LBPD.
Eventually, detectives identified Zamora as a suspect and took him into custody on suspicion of commercial burglary and violating his probation, police said, adding that no bail was set.
Detectives have since presented the case to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office for filing consideration, according to the LBPD.
