Police say the man was driving near the area of Anaheim Street and Cherry Avenue Wednesday night when he hit a curb and crashed.

Police say they’re investigating the death of a motorcyclist who crashed in the area of Anaheim Street and Cherry Avenue Wednesday night.

The motorcyclist, according to the Long Beach Police Department, may have been speeding southbound on Cherry Avenue and had just crossed Anaheim Street around 11:46 p.m. when he drove over a curb.

The motorcyclist then collided with a light pole and a nearby business, according to police, who said he died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported.

The man’s identity was not immediately revealed as the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office works to notify his relatives.

Police ask anyone with more information on the crash to contact detectives at 562-570-7355.
