A man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly stabbing another man in Bixby Knolls, police said.
Long Beach police say they responded just after 9 a.m. to the 200 block of East Arbor Street where they found a man with a stab wound to his lower body.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the man to a local hospital and his wound is not considered life threatening, according to authorities.
The victim and his alleged attacker were apparently involved in a brief altercation prior to the stabbing, police said. The suspect was still at the scene when LBPD officers arrived, and was arrested and booked at the Long Beach City Jail, according to police.
The LBPD identified the suspect as Jesse Heredia Torres, 22, of Long Beach. He was booked on one count of assault with a deadly weapon and bail was set at $30,000, police said.
The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing, police added.
