Man shot while sitting at North Long Beach bus stop, police say

A man was hospitalized Wednesday morning after being shot multiple times while sitting at a bus stop in North Long Beach, according to police.
The man was at a bus stop in the area of 56th Street and Atlantic around 11:42 a.m. when the gunman walked up to him, Long Beach police said.
Police say thatβs when the gunman shot the man at the bus stop multiple times and then ran away.
Officers responding to the scene found the man with gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body, police said.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel took him to a local hospital for treatment, according to police, who said the man's injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Itβs unclear what prompted the shooting, and police say theyβre still investigating a motive and additional circumstances.
