Man shot to death and two women wounded in West Long Beach, police say
The three victims were in the 3200 block of Caspian Avenue around midnight Sunday when they were shot by unknown assailants, according to authorities.
Police are investigating a shooting in West Long Beach that left a man dead and two women wounded around midnight.
Long Beach police say the three victims were in the 3200 block of Caspian Avenue around 12:11 a.m. Sunday when they were shot by unknown assailants.
LBPD officers gave the victims aid before Long Beach Fire Department personnel relieved them, according to police. LBFD personnel then took the victims to a local hospital, where they were treated for gunshot wounds to their upper bodies, authorities said.
The male victim later died of his injuries, according to police. His identity is being withheld while the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner works to notify his next of kin, police added.
The other two victims are in stable condition, according to the LBPD.
The suspect or suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene, and the motive, circumstances of the shooting and suspect information are all under investigation, according to the LBPD.
