Man shot near Downtown, Long Beach police say
Police say two suspects were arrested following the shooting in the 100 block of West 12th Street around 6 p.m. Thursday.

Police say they’re investigating a shooting near Downtown that left a man injured Thursday night.
The man was near the 100 block of West 12th Street around 6:14 p.m. when he was shot, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
A motive for the shooting is unknown, but two suspects were fleeing the area when LBPD officers arrived on scene, police said.
After detaining the suspects, police determined one of them was in possession of two firearms, according to the LBPD.
It was during their investigation that police learned a victim of the shooting had self-transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to his upper body that are not considered life threatening, police added.
Police arrested both suspects, and the suspect with the firearms was found to be a prohibited possessor, according to the LBPD.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing, police said.
