Man shot at homeless encampment near West Long Beach, police say
Police say the man was shot in the area of Willow Street and the 710 Freeway Sunday night.
Police are investigating a shooting at a homeless encampment in West Long Beach Sunday night that left a man injured.
The shooting happened around 10:38 p.m. at an encampment along Willow Street and the 710 Freeway, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Information on the circumstances of the shooting was not immediately available, but police said the man had been shot multiple times in the lower body.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, the LBPD said, adding that his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
No arrest has been made as police believe the shooter fled the scene.
