Man injured in Downtown Long Beach shooting
A man was also stabbed in a separate incident Thursday night in Central Long Beach, police say.

A man was shot while walking Downtown Thursday night, according to authorities.
Long Beach police responded to reports of a shooting near Cedar Avenue and 9th Street around 10:57 p.m., the Long Beach Police Department said. There, officers found a man who had been shot in the upper body, according to the LBPD.
After being treated by Long Beach Fire Department personnel, the man took himself to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury, police said.
According to police, the victim was walking in the area when he heard gunshots and then discovered he had been hit.
Police said suspect information and motive are under investigation.
Hours before, LBPD officers were dispatched to the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Anaheim Street following a report of a stabbing around 5:42 p.m. There, they found a man who had been stabbed in his upper body, police said.
Fire department personnel treated the man at the scene, but he declined to go to the hospital, according to authorities.
The man was apparently riding his bike when he got into an argument with two other men, police said. That argument then became physical and one of the men then stabbed the victim, according to the LBPD.
The suspects fled prior to officers' arrival, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
