Police say the woman was in her home in the 400 block of East Morningside Street when she was suddenly struck by gunfire sometime before 3 a.m.

Gunman shoots into North Long Beach home, injures woman, police say

A woman was injured early Friday morning when someone fired a gun into her North Long Beach home, according to authorities.

Police say an unknown suspect was in the 400 block of East Morningside Street just before 3 a.m. when they suddenly discharged a gun in the direction of the woman's home, striking her in the leg. The suspect then left the area, authorities said.

Authorities arrived and took the woman to a local hospital for treatment, police said. Her gunshot wound was not life-threatening and she is in stable condition, according to the LBPD.

Police say they’re still looking for a suspect and investigating a motive for the shooting.
