Authorities said a 27-year-old woman died after she crashed into a bridge guardrail early Thursday.
A woman died early Thursday morning after she crashed into a bridge guardrail in East Long Beach, police said.
Police say 27-year-old Brianna Chairez of Norwalk was speeding northbound on Studebaker Road near Loynes Drive around 1:41 a.m. when she crashed into the guardrail in the center median.
Despite receiving medical aid from good samaritans, Chairez died at the scene, police said. Chairezβs passenger, meanwhile, was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries, they added.
Detectives are currently investigating the cause of the crash but they believe alcohol, in addition to speeding, were factors, police said.
Police ask anyone with more information to contact detectives at 562-570-7355.
