Central Long Beach shooting leaves one juvenile injured, police say

Police are investigating a shooting in Central Long Beach that left one male juvenile injured Tuesday night, authorities said.
The victim was in an argument with a group of people near Seventh Street and Cherry Avenue around 8:30 p.m., according to the Long Beach Police Department, when one of the people in the group shot the victim in the lower body, authorities said. Police did not specify the age of the juvenile who was shot.
The group fled the scene before authorities arrived, police said.
The juvenile took himself to a local hospital for treatment, according to police, who added that his injury was not life-threatening.
Suspect information and the motive for the shooting are still under investigation, according to police.
