Burglary suspect arrested after SWAT standoff in Lakewood Village

Police say they arrested a suspected burglar following a SWAT standoff Monday night.

Long Beach police officers were sent to a home in the 4200 block of Lakewood Boulevard around 8:55 p.m. regarding a burglary in process, police said. Then they arrived, the suspect barricaded himself in the victim's home, police added.

After officers established a perimeter around the home, the SWAT team was used to "safely take the suspect into custody," according to the LBPD.

The suspect was identified as 47-year-old Run Peov of Long Beach, police said.

Officers then booked Peov for burglary and obstructing a peace officer, according to authorities.

Peov's bail was set at $50,000, police said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to the LBPD.
