Woman found dead on LA River bike path in West Long Beach, police say
The woman apparently fell from a motorcycle or other moving vehicle early Sunday morning, according to authorities.

Police say theyβre investigating after a woman was found dead on the Los Angeles River bike path in West Long Beach early Sunday morning.
Long Beach police officers responded to the area of the Los Angeles River north of Willow Street around 5:20 a.m. regarding a dead body, police said.
There, officers found a woman lying on the west side of the Los Angeles River bike path, according to the LBPD. Long Beach Fire Department personnel determined the woman had died at the scene, according to authorities.
The woman had apparently fallen from a motorcycle or other moving vehicle, according to Long Beach police.
Witnesses in the area cooperated with the investigation, police said.
At this time, the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner is working to identify the woman and notify the next of kin, according to the LBPD.

This is the 29th traffic fatality reported by the LBPD this year. There were 40 traffic fatalities in the city in 2024, according to police statistics.
