Woman dies after crashing into Metro train, police say
The woman, 21, was driving a car that hit a Metro train on Long Beach Boulevard Friday night, according to authorities.

Police are investigating the death of a woman who died in a car crash involving a Metro train near Long Beach Boulevard and Anaheim Street Friday night.
The woman, identified as a 21-year-old Compton resident, was traveling with two male adult passengers southbound on Long Beach Boulevard just north of Anaheim Street in a 2014 Infinity Q50S at a high rate of speed with no headlights around 11:53 p.m. according to the Long Beach Police Department.
That's when a 2019 Honda Civic driven by a 29-year-old male resident of Long Beach made turned from Anaheim Street onto southbound Long Beach Boulevard in front of the Infinity, police said. The driver of the Honda swerved out of the way to avoid being rear-ended and hit a guardrail, police added.
The driver of the Infinity also swerved but lost control and hit a Metro train, according to police.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the driver and passengers of the Infinity to local hospitals, where the driver died of her injuries, authorities said. The two passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to a police spokesperson.
The driver of the Honda remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said. He was uninjured, according to the LBPD.
At this time, speed and impaired driving are being investigated as contributing factors in the crash, police said.
The driver's identity was withheld while the Los Angeles County Medical Examinerβs office works to notify her relatives, according to authorities.
