A woman who suffered serious injuries during a crash in North Long Beach in March has died, police announced Monday.

Police say the woman was making a westbound turn onto Harding Street from northbound Atlantic Avenue in a 2010 Pontiac G6 around 8:30 a.m. on March 8.

As she was making the turn, she was struck by a 2022 Chrysler 300, driven by a man who was speeding southbound on Atlantic Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The collision pushed both vehicles into the southwest corner, with the Chrysler 300 hitting a private sign and a cinder block wall, according to the LBPD.

Both drivers sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to a local hospital, police said.

The woman who was driving the Pontiac, identified as Kay Lynn Dehorney, 58, of Long Beach, died of her injuries on April 6, according to authorities.

At this time, the LBPD said it considers speed to have been a contributing factor in the collision.

Police ask anyone who may have information on this collision to contact LBPD Collision Investigation Detail Detective Kevin Johansen at 562-570-7355.
