A 27-year-old woman who was previously charged with 3o counts of misdemeanor theft after authorities said she shoplifted dozens of times from a Long Beach T.J. Maxx now faces more serious felony charges over the alleged crimes.

Florence Leslie Miller is accused of stealing from the same T.J. Maxx store in Long Beach over eight months, according to the Long Beach City Prosecutor's office.

Miller, according to authorities, would enter the store for a few minutes before leaving with less than $950 worth of items, including handbags and clothing.

In total, she shoplifted roughly $6,000 of product from T.J. Maxx before she was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of multiple thefts, according to the city prosecutor's office, which filed 30 counts of misdemeanor theft against Miller.

On Monday, Miller's case was presented in Long Beach Court where city prosecutors filed four more theft charges against her, Haubert said.

In addition, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office also filed a charge of felony robbery and theft of more than $950 against Miller stemming from an alleged shoplifting crime on January 9, authorities said. Her bail was then upped from $100,000 to $175,000, officials said.

"Not only is this the largest shoplifting case filed in Long Beach, but the bold nature of the crimes is particularly alarming," City Prosecutor Doug Haubert said last week about Miller's case. "This case is an example of the challenges that exist when preventing or combatting retail theft."
