What's Good, LBC? Supper clubs, movies, free concerts and more
Summer isn't over yet. From a guided rancho walk to the Kidical Mass Bike Ride, Long Beach has plenty of outdoor activities to take advantage of.
It's hard to believe that it's nearly autumn and soon enough, we'll reach the end of 2024 — and what a year it's been.
This week we've rounded up happenings around town including free concerts, movie screenings, culinary experiences and more.
Here's what we've got:
A Fungi Fest (Sept. 12)
Chef Eugene Santiago of Union at Compound and Baryo will partner with Long Beach Mushroom Founders Justin and Mia Nguyen for a Supper Club event. The five-course meal ($90) with optional wine pairing ($35) will showcase different mushrooms from the local farm. The dinner will be the first of a recurring monthly Supper Club series. Tickets can be purchased here.
Spooktacular Bazaar (Sept. 13)
The Queen Mary is beginning spooky season festivities with a Spooktacular bazaar and movie night. Tickets are $10 and begin at 5 p.m. with double movie screening of Nightmare Before Christmas followed by Labyrinth beginning at 7 p.m. There will be live music, shopping, food vendors and the Dark Harbor experience on the harbor. Costumes are encouraged. Tickets can be purchased here.
Moonpetam American Indian Festival (Sept. 14 and 15)
The Aquarium of the Pacific will host the 20th annual Moompetam American Indian Festival this weekend beginning at 9 a.m. General admission to the aquarium is required. The festival celebrates indigenous California maritime cultures, including Tongva, Chumash, Acjachemen, Costanoan, Luiseño, and Kumeyaay. Craft demonstrations, storytelling, music, dance and more will be featured. More information can be found here.
