West Long Beach stabbing leaves man hospitalized, police say
The stabbing happened in the 2100 block of Williams Street around 12:55 a.m. Sunday, according to authorities.
Police say theyβre investigating a stabbing in West Long Beach that left a man injured Sunday morning.
The man was standing outside a building in the 2100 block of Williams Street around 12:55 a.m. when another man approached and then stabbed him with a sharp object, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the victim to a local hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body, police said.
Suspect information and the motive for the stabbing are under investigation, police said.
There were 4,584 simple assaults in Long Beach in 2025, which was down nearly 9% from the previous year, and 2,086 aggravated assaults in 2025, which was about 1% lower than 2024, according to LBPD statistics.
