Tell Long Beach officials how to spend your money. Budget survey closes tonight
While a citywide survey closes at 11 p.m. Tuesday, additional community meetings and surveys will be announced in August, officials said.
Long Beach residents still have a chance to fill out a survey letting city officials know what they think the 2026 budget should prioritize.
The short survey, which launched last month with the beginning of the city’s budget development process, asks residents to rank eight key issues, including education, housing and homelessness, health and wellness and public safety, among others, in order of importance. Within each of the broader categories, the survey asks what are considered the most important programs or services.
The city also hosted a series of six in-person community meetings throughout the city, with the final meeting being held Monday night at Cornerstone Church in southeast Long Beach.
In an email last month, Mayor Rex Richardson noted that there will be additional meetings and surveys in August after the proposed budget is released.
“I encourage every member of our community to make your voice heard and attend a budget meeting or fill out the Budget Priorities Survey — it only takes a few minutes,” Richardson wrote.
