Teen shot in Washington neighborhood, Long Beach police say
Police say the 16-year-old boy was standing on a sidewalk near 14th Street Park on Halloween night when someone shot him.
Long Beach police are investigating a shooting in the city's Washington neighborhood that left a 16-year-old injured on Halloween night.
The teen was standing on a sidewalk near 14th Street Park around 9:47 p.m. Thursday when someone shot him in the upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
His family then took him to a local hospital for treatment, police said, adding that his injuries are not life-threatening.
Officers, meanwhile, responded to the area where the shooting took place and located a crime scene, according to the LBPD. Police did not say what was found at the crime scene.
At this time, suspect information and a motive for the shooting remains under investigation, according to the LBPD.
