Police say they’re investigating a stabbing in the Franklin neighborhood that left a man hospitalized Thursday morning.

The man was in the 1800 block of East Fourth Street around 1:18 a.m. when an unknown suspect stabbed him with a sharp object, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The victim took himself to a local hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening stab wound to the lower body, police said.

Suspect information and the motive for the stabbing are still under investigation, police said.
