Stabbing in Franklin neighborhood leaves man hospitalized

The stabbing happened in the 300 block of Orange Avenue around 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, according to authorities.

Police are investigating a stabbing in the Franklin neighborhood that left a man hospitalized Wednesday night.

Long Beach police say an unknown suspect stabbed a man in the 300 block of Orange Avenue around 5:25 p.m. Wednesday.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for a single stab wound to his upper body, according to authorities. Police said the wound was not considered life-threatening.

The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers, police said.

Motive, suspect information and the circumstances of the stabbing are all under investigation, according to the LBPD.
