The shooting happened around 4:50 a.m. Sunday at the 100 block of Pacific Coast Highway, according to the LBPD.

Police are investigating a shooting in Long Beach's Washington neighborhood that left one man injured early Sunday morning, authorities said.

The victim was with a group of people in a parking lot in the 100 block of Pacific Coast Highway around 4:50 a.m. when they were approached by a vehicle, according to the Long Beach Police Department. A man then exited the vehicle and fired a gun, hitting the victim, police said.

The victim took himself to a local hospital, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his upper body, according to authorities.

Officers located evidence at the scene of a shooting, but any suspects fled prior to their arrival, police said.

Suspect information and the shooting motive are under investigation, according to the LBPD.
