Police are investigating a shooting in North Long Beach that left one man injured early Monday morning, authorities said.

Long Beach police say they responded to the 2600 block of East 55th Way around 4:30 a.m. following reports of a shooting. There, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to the LBPD.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the man to a local hospital, according to authorities. His wound was not considered life-threatening, police said.

Motive, circumstances and suspect information remain under investigation, police said.
