The man was in the 2300 block of East Anaheim Street around 9:32 p.m. Sunday when an unknown suspect shot him, according to the LBPD.

Authorities are investigating a shooting in Long Beach’s Hellman neighborhood that left a man hospitalized Sunday night.

Long Beach police say the man was in the 2300 block of East Anaheim Street around 9:32 p.m. when an unknown male suspect fired a gun multiple times, hitting him.

The suspect then fled the scene, police said.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the man to a local hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to authorities. The wound was not considered life-threatening, police added.

The motive for the shooting and suspect information are still under investigation, police said.
