Shooting in Hellman neighborhood leaves 1 woman injured, Long Beach police say

Police are investigating a shooting in Long Beach's Hellman neighborhood that left one woman injured early Saturday morning, authorities said.
The victim was in her vehicle in the 1600 block of 10th Street around 2:50 a.m. when two men attempted to get inside, according to Long Beach police.
As she drove away, the woman was hit by gunfire, police said. The victim drove north about a mile and a half to the area of 23rd Street and Walnut Avenue, where she called the police, according to the LBPD.
The victim sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her upper body, police said.
Suspect information and the motivation for the shooting are under investigation, according to the LBPD.
