Shooting in East Village leaves man injured, Long Beach police say

The man was in the 700 block of Seventh Street around 10:07 p.m. Sunday when an unknown suspect shot him, according to LBPD.

Authorities are investigating a shooting in Long Beach’s East Village neighborhood that left a man injured Sunday night.

Long Beach Police say the man was in the 700 block of Seventh Street around 10:07 p.m. Sunday when an unknown suspect shot him.

Officers responded to the area and found the victim with a gunshot wound to the lower body, according to the LBPD. 

He was taken by Long Beach Fire Department personnel to a local hospital for treatment, police said, adding that his wound is not considered life-threatening. 

Police said circumstances, motive and suspect information are all under investigation.
