Police are investigating a shooting in Downtown Long Beach that left a woman, man and teen boy injured Sunday night, authorities said.

Long Beach police say a large group of people were arguing outside a boat at Shoreline Village around 10:50 p.m. The argument escalated when at least one suspect began firing a gun, police said.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel took a woman suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to her upper body to a local hospital, according to authorities.

Two others, a man and a 14-year-old teen boy, suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to their lower body but took themselves to a local hospital, police added.

Though the group of people and suspect had fled the boat by the time police arrived, LBPD officers found the boat and arrested the only occupant onboard, identified as Joshua Eduardo Jones, a 43-year-old resident of Apple Valley, police said.

Jones was booked at the Long Beach Jail on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited possessor in possession of ammunition, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, according to the LBPD.

Bail was set at No Bail, police said.

The motive, circumstances of the shooting and suspect information remain under investigation, according to police.
