Shooting in Central Long Beach leaves 1 man injured, police say

Police are investigating a shooting in Central Long Beach that left one man injured early Saturday morning, authorities said.

Long Beach police say they responded to the 1700 block of Magnolia Avenue around 3 a.m. following reports of a shooting. There, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to the LBPD.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the man to a local hospital in critical but stable condition, according to authorities.

Officers recovered a firearm at the scene but motive, circumstances and suspect information remain under investigation, police said.
