Ransomware attack closes Long Beach courthouse, officials say
Officials first became aware of the issue Friday after courts in Los Angeles County began experiencing connectivity issues.
Governor George Deukmejian Courthouse in Long Beach, along with all Los Angeles County courts, is closed Monday in the wake of a ransomware attack, officials confirmed.
Court officials say they first became aware of an issue Friday after courthouses in Los Angeles County began experiencing connectivity issues, prompting remote hearings to be continued.
That same day, the issue was identified as a ransomware attack unrelated to the CrowdStrike issue affecting other computer systems worldwide, officials said.
The courtβs network systems were immediately turned off to mitigate further harm and thereβs no evidence that any data has been compromised, officials said.
On Sunday, officials announced the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, which includes Long Beach, would be closed to repair and reboot their networks.
