Police arrest teen suspected of fatal Bluff Park shooting in November
Police say the 15-year-old Long Beach resident killed 51-year-old Frank Suggs on Nov. 24.

A 15-year-old Long Beach resident has been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting a homeless man in Bluff Park in November, according to authorities.
Long Beach police say the teen, who was not named because of his age, shot and killed Frank Suggs, 51, on Nov. 24, 2024. The teen also allegedly shot and wounded another man in the same incident, police added.
Officers responded around 2 a.m. that night to the 2600 block of East Ocean Boulevard, where they found Suggs and another man suffering from gunshot wounds in the upper body, according to the LBPD.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel declared Suggs dead at the scene and took the second man to a local hospital, police said.
LBPD detectives later identified the teen as a suspect in both shootings. On May 22, police arrested him, according to the department.
The suspect was first processed at the Long Beach City Jail and later transported to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall, where he was booked for murder, police said. His bail was set at No Bail, police added.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, according to police.
LBPD detectives will present the case next week to the Los Angeles County District Attorneyβs Office for filing consideration, authorities said.
Police ask anyone with information regarding the shootings to call Homicide Detectives Ethan Shear and Kelsey Myers at 562-570-7244.
